ADC_Keywords: Photometry, infrared ; Surveys Mission_Name: ESO Abstract: This multi-band source catalogue provides aperture photometry in four near infrared broad-band filters: Y, J, H and Ks for almost 1.4 billion detections. The total coverage of the VHS survey is almost 17000 square degrees in the South Hemisphere. Description: Observations were made with the VIRCAM instrument on the ESO-VISTA telescope between 2009-11-04T12:29:43 and 2017-04-01T14:59:29 in Y, J, H and Ks filters. Acknowledging the VHS in publications: Please include the following acknowledgment in any published material that makes use of this data products: Based on observations made with ESO Telescopes at the La Silla or Paranal Observatories under programme ID(s) 179.A-2010(A), 179.A-2010(B), 179.A-2010(C), 179.A-2010(D), 179.A-2010(E), 179.A-2010(F), 179.A-2010(G), 179.A-2010(H), 179.A-2010(I), 179.A-2010(J), 179.A-2010(K), 179.A-2010(L), 179.A-2010(M), 179.A-2010(N), 179.A-2010(O). Flag indicates primary sources (=1), otherwise (=0) (PRIMARY_SOURCE) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note (1): This profile classification statistic is a continuously distributed, Gaussian N(0,1) (i.e. zero mean, unit variance) statistic formed from the available individual classification statistics by averaging them and multiplying by N1/2 such that cuts on mergedClassStat result in completeness being independent of number of frames an object appears on, but with reliability improving with the number of frames. Note (2): Class flag from available measurements as follows: 1 = Galaxy (522,436,266 occurrences); 0 = Noise (25,899,664 occurrences); -1 = Star (631,842,962 occurrences); -2 = Probable star (180,291,372 occurrences); -3 = Probable galaxy (13,737,221 occurrences); Note (3): Magnitudes with errors >100mag have been set to null value by CDS; their errors have been set to 100mag. Note (4): Post-processing error quality bit flags assigned to detections in the archive curation procedure for survey data. From least to most significant byte in the 4-byte integer attribute byte 0 (bits 0 to 7) corresponds to information on generally innocuous conditions that are nonetheless potentially significant as regards the integrity of that detection; byte 1 (bits 8 to 15) corresponds to warnings; byte 2 (bits -3 to 23) corresponds to important warnings; and finally byte 3 (bits 0 to 31) corresponds to severe warnings. See http://horus.roe.ac.uk/vsa/ppErrBits.html Note (5): If a source is not found to be duplicated in overlap regions, then priOrSec=0; if a source is duplicated, then priOrSec will be set to the frameSetID of the source that should be considered the best one to use out of the set of duplicates. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: Downloaded from http://www.eso.org/qi/
