Description:
A narrow-band spectrometer, compensated for seeing and transparency
variations, has been constructed and used to measure the strength of
the calcium K-line (3933.68Å) in 146 A-type stars. The observations
were made in the spring of 1966 with the No.4 16-inch (40cm) telescope
at Kitt Peak National Observatory.

3- 6 I4 --- HR ? Star number in Bright Star Catalog (V/50)
8 A1 --- Gr [EIL] Stromegren group: Early, Intermediate
(A0-A3), or Late
9 A1 --- f_Gr [*] spectroscopically normal star
11- 16 I6 --- HD Star number in Henry Draper Catalog (III/135)
18- 25 A8 --- SpT MK spectral classification (1)
27- 30 I4 cmag Vmag Visual magnitude
32- 35 I4 mmag k [16/1366] Index of the Ca K-line
37- 39 I3 mmag e_k [2/43]? rms error on k
41- 44 I4 mmag dk ? Deviation Δk (2)
46- 49 I4 mmag d[m] ? Deviation Δ[m1] from normal (3)
51- 54 I4 mmag beta ? β index of Hβ line strength
57- 60 I4 mmag b-y ? Stroemgren index (from Bright Star Catalog)
62- 65 I4 --- (b-y)L ? (b-y) color for the Late-group star (4)
67- 70 I4 --- (b-y)K ? (b-y) color predicted from our relation
between k and (b-y).
72- 75 I4 mmag [c1] ? Reddedning-insensitive index [c1]
(Balmer decrement)
77- 80 I4 mmag [m1] ? Reddedning-insensitive index [m1]
(metal abundance)
82- 85 I4 mmag a ? temperature parameter (5)
87- 90 I4 mmag a(m1) ? temperature parameter from [m1] (5)

Note (1): classification largely from Bidelman.
(s) indicates an AM star on the basis of Stroemgren photometry.
Note (2): deviation from the average value for normal stars having the same
(b-y) color. A negative value indicates a weak K-line
Note (3): A negative value indicates a high-metal abundance.
Note (4): index derived from the relation of Crawford and Stroemgren
(1966ARA&A...4..433S 1966ARA&A...4..433S)
Note (5): temperature index for the intermediate group (early A stars); it is
defined by Eq.(6) and is affected by interstellar reddening:
a = (b-y) + 0.189[(u-b) - 1.36mag]
For intermediate-group stars, a and a(m1) agree.
