Spectral Atlas File:
The information for each galaxy consists of a header plus the co-added
spectra and is separated from the next object by a blank line (record).
See the documentation (adc.doc or doc.tex) for complete explanations.
The following "Description" shows the structure of the data records
of the first spectrum (1050+04) which can for instance be generated
on a Unix machine by the shell command:
zcat atlas.Z | awk '/^ *LAM / { insp=1; next} /^$/{if (insp ≡ 1) exit}{if (insp ≡ 1) print}' > sp
("insp" is a awk variable set to 1 as long as the lines correspond to
the first spectrum, which is starting just after the line containing
" LAM " and ending at a blank record):
