Description:
The data file contains a bibliography of 44,000 radial velocities for
about 25,000 stars, from a compilation of about 2340 publications (see
the "Note (3)" below). The authors estimate that 99% of stellar radial
velocities published by June 1970 are contained in the surveyed volumes.

Note (1): the identification is made of a zone, a running number in the
zone, and a code for the Durchmusterung: 0-19 for BD, 20-39 for CD,
and 40-59 for CPD. Negative running numbers indicate non-DM stars,
but are an approximative value of B1950 position (-HHMMm)
Note (2): designation reported in the original compilation, can be in
error (the DM identification was checked at CDS). Acronyms of catalog

History:
* The catalog was keypunched at CDS in the 70's from a printed copy
of Abt and Bigg's bibliography.
* 11-Sep-2015: catalog standardized at CDS.
The following problems were fixed:
-- addition of a dedicated column for magnitude flags
-- correction of velocities from Maunder (OBS 15, 393, 1892) who
reports velocities in German Geographical Miles/s (=4.72km/s),
(thanks to Thom Gandet who sent a note to CDS on 2007-08-23)
