ADC_Keywords: Sun ; Line Profiles Keywords: Sun: chromosphere - Sun: UV radiation - line: profiles Description: Mean line profiles of the quiet Sun spectrum, recorded simultaneously in Lα, Lβ, Ca II H and K, and Mg II h and k lines with the OSO-8/LPSP spectrometer were derived for structures such as supergranulation cell and network. We compare these observed profiles with theoretical ones computed by Vernazza et al. (1981, VAL81) and by Fontenla et al. (1993, FAL93). We also present our own theoretical profiles : with our non-LTE radiative transfer codes, we compute the line profiles corresponding to different atmospheric models, derived from the reference VAL and FAL models. Finally, we propose two new semi-empirical models, NET and CEL, which are in better agreement with the network and cell line profiles observed by OSO-8.
