Abstract:
In this paper, based on a paper by Liu and Zhang (2002, Cat.
J/A+A/381/757), we have chosen a sample of 542 extragalactic
sources (27 BL Lac objects, 300 galaxies (radio galaxies and
Seyfert galaxies), and 215 quasars), for which we have calculated
the core-dominance parameters and investigated the relation between
core-dominance parameter and the core and extended luminosities.
The core-dominance parameter of galaxies is smaller than that in
quasars, which is smaller than that in BL Lac objects.

Note (1): Type as follows:
G = radio galaxy
BL = BL Lac object
Q = quasar
S0.5 = Seyfert Type 0.5 galaxy
S1 = Seyfert Type 1 galaxy
S2 = Seyfert Type 2 galaxy
S3 = Seyfert Type 3 galaxy
Note (2): R=Pc/PE=[Pc/(Ptot-Pc)]*(1.4/5)-αE*(1+z)-αE
To calculate the core-dominance parameter R at 5GHz, we assume that
the spectral index (Sν∝ν-α) for the core is
is αC=0.0 and the extended spectral index is αE=0.5 or 1.0.
