Abstract:
A new catalogue of 6330 eclipsing variable stars is presented. The
catalogue was developed from the General Catalogue of Variable Stars
(GCVS) and its textual remarks by including recently published
information about classification of 843 systems and making
corresponding corrections of GCVS data. The catalogue represents the
largest list of eclipsing binaries classified from observations.

Note (1): Classes defined as follows:
DM = Detached main sequence system
DR = Detached subgiant system
DG = Detached giant or supergiant system
S = Semi-detached system
C = Contact system of unknown sub-class
CB = Near-contact system of unknown sub-class
CBF = Near-contact F system
CBV = Near-contact V system
CE = Early-type contact system
CW = Late-type contact system of unknown sub-class
CWA = Late-type contact A system
CWW = Late-type contact W system
Note (2): Uncertainty flag is related to the last symbol of Class1
if Class2 is unknown. Otherwise, uncertainty flag is
related to the last symbol of Class2.
Note (3): Field is blank if type of the light curve is "E".
Note (4): The photometric system in which magMax, A1, A2 is as follows:
P = (photographic magnitudes)
V = (visual, photovisual, or Johnson's V)
B = (Johnson's B)
Hp = (Hipparcos magnitude)
U = Johnson U band
R = Johnson R band
I = Johnson I band
J = Johnson J band
b = Stroemgren b band
v = Stroemgren v band
y = Stroemgren y band
Rc = Cousins R band
Ic = Cousins I band
g = Thuan and Gunn g band
* = parameters measured in white light
Note (5): Variability of Period flag as follows:
u = means period varies,
d = means period decreases,
i = means period increases,
v = means sign of period variation changes.
Note (6): The parameters given is (phase x 1000).
