Abstract:
In this paper we discuss the cluster and field star formation in the
central part of the Small Magellanic Cloud. The main goal is to study
the correlation between young objects and their interstellar
environment. The ages of about 164 associations and 311 clusters
younger than 1Gyr are determined using isochrone fitting. The spatial
distribution of the clusters is compared with the HI maps, with the
HI velocity dispersion field, with the location of the CO clouds and
with the distribution of young field stars.
Description:
We give the catalog of 462 clusters and associations in the Bar of the
SMC. We make use of OGLE data. For each cluster we determine age a nd
reddening. An index of the quality of the results is also given.

Note (1): Object types as follows:
C = star cluster
N = supernova remnant
A = emissionless association
CA = object with intermediate properties of class C and A
AC = object with intermediate properties of class A and C
AN = association that shows a trace of emission
CN = cluster that shows a trace of emission
NA = H II region and embedded association
NC = H II regions and embedded star cluster or high surface
brightness compact H II regions
Note (2): Class gives an estimate of the uncertainties
on the age determination as follows:
1 = objects having Delta(Log(Age(yr)))<0.3
2 = objects having 0.3<Delta(Log(Age(yr)))<0.5
3 = objects having Delta(Log(Age(yr)))>0.5
