Abstract:
We present the third results (including the previous two releases) of
the ESO/GOODS program of spectroscopy of faint galaxies in the Chandra
Deep Field South (CDF-S). The typical redshift uncertainty is
estimated to be σz∼0.001.
The reduced spectra and the derived redshifts are released to the
community through the ESO web page http://www.eso.org/science/goods/
Description:
The VLT/FORS2 spectroscopic observations were carried out in service
and visitor mode during several nights between 2002 and 2007.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note (1): The classification has been guided by the observed continuum
level and slope blueward and redward of the emission/absorption
feature, by the broad-band colors and the morphology of the targets.
Detailed meaning:
em. = emission line(s) detected in the spectrum
abs. = absorption-line(s) detected in the spectrum
comp = both emission and absorption-line(s) detected in the spectrum
star = star
Note (2): Quality flag for the reliability of the redshift determination,
as follows:
A = solid redshift determination
B = likely redshift determination
C = tentative redshift determination
X = an inconclusive spectrum
Note (3): The column contains additional information relevant to
the particular observation. The most common ones summarize the
identification of the principal lines, the inclination of an emission
line due to internal kinematics, the weakness of the signal ("faint"),
the low S/N of the extracted spectrum ("noisy"), etc.
