Abstract:
We present the results of a systematic search of Beat Cepheids (BC) in
the Magellanic Clouds from the EROS-2 database. Observations were
carried out on the MARLY telescope (ESO La Silla, Chile) between July
1996 and March 2003. A specific pipeline was developed to extract
periodic light curves from the photometric data obtained with the
PEIDA package (Ansari, 1996VA.....40..519A 1996VA.....40..519A). Two different populations
are identified in each Cloud: the BCs pulsating on the fundamental and
first overtone modes (FO/F objects) simultaneously, and those
pulsating on the first and second overtones (SO/FO objects). A Fourier
analysis was performed on each light curve. We derived lower, higher
and mean values of metallicities for the FO/F objects, using linear
nonadiabatic convective stellar models.
Description:
The catalogs of beat Cepheids in the Magellanic Clouds from the EROS-2
database (EROS2-BC) contains positional data, periods of the two modes
of pulsation, values of metallicity (for the FO/F pulsators only) and
the Fourier coefficients in the BE EROS passband (420-720nm). These
coefficients are defined in the paper (see Table 1).

Global notes:
Note (G1): The identifier of each star is given according to the
recommendations of the IAU Commission 5 in The Rules and Regulations
for Nomenclature (see the Annual Index of A&A). The general acronym
used in the catalogue is EROS2-BC followed by J2000 equatorial
coordinates in the format JHHMMSS-DDMMSS.
Note (G2): The identifier Int is the star identifier used in the EROS-2
database. As an example, the star J053929-703819 with J2000 equatorial
coordinates of 05:39:29.15, -70:38:19.2 is also referred to by the
internal EROS-2 number lm0591l5619 (the 5619th star in the field
lm059, CCD 1, quarter l)
Note (G3): BE is broad-band 'blue' channel 420-720nm.
The Fourier decomposition is, for 1 pulsation mode:
R(t) = R0 + Σn Rn.cos(2πn/P + φn)
The first number (e.g. '1' in R121) represents the pulsation mode
number, the following the (e.g. '21' in R121) indicates the ratio
of overtone (2) over fundamental (1).
