According to models, the planet-disk interaction may create large structures, gaps, rings, or spirals in the disk. In that sense, the Herbig star HD 142527 is particularly compelling, as its massive disk displays intriguing asymmetries that suggest the existence of a dynamical peturber of unknown nature. Our goal was to obtain deep thermal images of the close circumstellar environment of HD 142527 to re-image the reported close-in structures (cavity, spiral arms) of the disk and to search for stellar and substellar companions that could be connected to their presence. Description: The provided data were taken on 2009/07/29 with VLT/NaCo which is an adaptive optics imager, in thermal L' band imaging. The plate scale used was 27.1mas/pixel with the L27 camera. The observing mode was angular differential imaging with a 512x514 window, with an integration time of 0.2s, so that the total exposure time is 2580s. A PSF reference star was also observed within the same parallactic angle variation and observing conditions (HD 181296). For more details into the observing strategy and conditions, please refer to section 2.1.
