We use a new method that takes advantage of the HARPS high-resolution spectra to increase the precision of metallicity, using previous photometric calibrations of [Fe/H] and effective temperature as starting values. Description: The observations were gathered using the HARPS instrument, installed at the ESO 3.6-m telescope at the La Silla observatory in Chile. It is a high resolution (R∼115000) spectrograph in the visible, covering a region between 380 and 690nm. During the time of the GTO program, from 11th February 2003 to the 1st of April 2009, a total of 1965 spectra were recorded.
