ADC_Keywords: Active gal. nuclei ; QSOs Keywords: quasars: general - quasars: supermassive black holes Abstract: Although the variability in the ultraviolet and optical domain is one of the major characteristics of quasars, the dominant underlying mechanisms are still poorly understood. There is a broad consensus on the relationship between the strength of the variability and such quantities as time-lag, wavelength, luminosity, and redshift. However, evidence on a dependence on the fundamental parameters of the accretion process is still inconclusive. This paper is focused on the correlation between the ultraviolet quasar long-term variability and the accretion rate. Description: We present a catalogue of 3916 quasars with redshifts between 0.7 and 1.7 from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Stripe 82. The catalogue combines individual estimators for the variability strength from Meusinger et al. (2011, Cat. J/A+A/525/37), luminosities and virial black hole masses from Shen et al. (2011ApJS..194...45S 2011ApJS..194...45S), and mass accretions rates computed from the scaling relation derived by Davis & Laor (2011ApJ...728...98D 2011ApJ...728...98D).
