Our aim is twofold: firstly, to analyse the relationship between excess-continuum and line emission accretion diagnostics, and, secondly, to investigate the accretion properties in terms of the physical properties of the central object. The accretion luminosity (Lacc), and in turn the accretion rate (dM/dtacc), was derived by modelling the excess emission from the UV to the near-infrared as the continuum emission of a slab of hydrogen. We computed the flux and luminosity (Lline) of many emission lines of H, He, and CaII, observed simultaneously in the range from ∼330nm to 2500nm. Description: With its three spectrograph arms, X-shooter provides simultaneous wavelength coverage from ∼300 to ∼2480nm. For most of the targets, slits of 10/09/09 were used in the UVB/VIS/NIR arms, respectively, yielding resolving powers of 5100/8800/5600. Only the two brightest objects in the sample (Sz 74 and Sz 83) were observed through the 0.5/0.4/0.4 arcsec slits in the UVB/VIS/NIR arms, respectively, yielding resolving powers of 9100/17400/10500. Table 1 includes the observation log. X-shooter@VLT spectra of 36 Young Stellar Objects (YSOs) in the Lupus star forming region are published. For most of the targets, slits of 1"/0.9"/0.9" were used in the UVB/VIS/NIR arms, respectively, yielding resolving powers of 5100/8800/5600. Only the two brightest objects in the sample (Sz74 and Sz83) were observed through the 0.5/0.4/0.4 arcsec slits in the UVB/VIS/NIR arms, respectively, yielding resolving powers of 9100/17400/10500. For every YSO the spectra in the UVB, VIS and NIR arms are given. The 1d wavelength-calibrated and flux-calibrated spectra are in fits format and are not corrected for extinction. The VIS and NIR spectra are corrected for telluric absorption lines. The wavelength units are nm and the flux units are erg/s/cm2/nm.
