The star HAT-P-4 hosts a hot Jupiter planet detected by transits, while its stellar companion does not have any detected planets. We derived the fundamental parameters and abundances using the differential method. HAT-P-4 is found to be about 0.1dex more metal rich than its companion; it is enhanced in refractory elements and presents a higher Lithium content. We propose a scenario of a possible rocky planet engulfment in HAT-P-4, which explains the higher metallicity, the higher Li content, and the negative Tc trend we detected. Description: Detailed line-by-line data and average abundances of the A star (HAT-P-4) and its B companion, both relative to the Sun and for B relative to A. Also the reduced spectra as FITS files of stars A and B; the filenames are HAT-P-4.fits and TYC2569-744-1.fits Objects: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ RA (2000) DE Designation(s) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 15 19 57.93 +36 13 46.8 HAT-P-4 = BD+36 2593 15 20 00.01 +36 12 18.5 TYC 2569-744-1 = 2MASS J15200001+3612185 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File Summary: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FileName Lrecl Records Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ReadMe 80 .
