Abstract:
We aim to measure the physical properties of the hot X-ray corona of
two active galactic nuclei, NGC 4388 and NGC 2110.
We analysed the hard X-ray (20-300keV) INTEGRAL spectrum in
conjunction with archival XMM-Newton and NuSTAR data.
The X-ray spectrum of both sources is phenomenologically well
described by an absorbed cut-off power law. In agreement with previous
results, we find no evidence of a Compton reflection component in
these sources. We obtain a high-energy cut-off of 200-40+75keV for
NGC 4388 and 320-60+100keV for NGC 2110. A fit with a thermal
Comptonisation model yields a coronal temperature of 80-20+40keV
and 75-15+20keV, respectively, and an optical depth of
approximately two, assuming a spherical geometry. The coronal
temperature and luminosity of both sources are consistent with pair
production that acts as a thermostat for the thermal plasma. These
results emphasise the importance of good signal-to-noise X-ray data
above 100keV to probe the high-energy emission of AGNs.

The file naming convention is given below.
XMM-Newton files:
----------------------------------------------------------
1) source spectrum: 'name''date'pnp04r'radius'_r.pi
where 'name' is either ngc4388 or ngc2110, 'date' is the
observation date, 'radius' is the source extraction radius
in arcsec
2) background: 'name''date'pnp04bkg_r50.pi
3) response file: 'name''date'pnp04r'radius'.rmf
4) ancillary file: 'name''date'pnp04r'radius'.arf

NuSTAR files:
----------------------------------------------------------
1) source spectrum: 'name''A/B'obs'date'r.pi
where 'A/B' can be either A or B for the two detectors
FPMA and FPMB, respectively
2) background: 'name''A/B'obs'date'bk.pi
3) response file: 'name''A/B'obs'date'sr.rmf
4) ancillary file: 'name''A/B'obs'date'sr.arf

INTEGRAL files:
----------------------------------------------------------
1) source spectrum: 'name'_ibis.pha
2) response file: cat1500_rmf.fits
3) ancillary file: cat1500warf'NNN'.fits
where 'NNN' is a number assigned to different sources
(284 for NGC 4388, 132 for NGC 2110).
