Based primarely on the POSS-II and ESO/SERC films we found 260 nearby dwarf galaxy candidates with angular diameters a>0.5arcmin. More than 50% of the objects were revealed for the first time. As we suppose, a significant part of them (about 30%) may really belong to the Local Volume sample.
