Abstract:
We present linear polarization measurements of 154 extragalactic radio
sources at λ6.3cm, as part of a continuing effort to expand and
improve our Faraday rotation determinations of radio galaxies and
quasars. The excellent telescope optics of the Effelsberg 100 m
telescope at this wavelength, combined with a matrix method we applied
for calibrating out all components of the instrumental polarization
enables us to achieve better than average accuracy in the
determinations of linear polarization degree and position angle. In
the absence of thermal noise errors, these are repeatable to better
than 0.2% and 0.1° respectively, for the prime calibrator, 3C 286.

History:
* 13-Apr-1999 by H.Andernach
-- Source name 0123-012 has been corrected to 0123-016, and 3C40 added
in the "Name" column (thanks to F.Ochsenbein, CDS).
-- For 1358+624 the comma in the RA seconds has been replaced by a
decimal point. All commas as well as the decimal digit (always zero!)
in the S6.3cm column have been removed here.
-- For 1846-00 (3C391) the Galactic latitude (+0.0) was inserted. This
source is the supernova remnant SNR 031.9+00.0 and thus NOT
extragalactic.
-- The Galactic latitude for 1915-12 was corrected from -113 to -11.3.
DA240 is so extended that it is not clear which polarization is meant.
The flux density errors (mostly below one percent) appear totally
unrealistic.
