ADC_Keywords: Magellanic Clouds ; Stars, variable Keywords: galaxies: distances and redshifts - Magellanic Clouds - RR Lyrae variable Abstract: Shapes of RR Lyrae light curves can be described in terms of Fourier coefficients that past research has linked with physical characteristics such as luminosity, mass, and temperature. Fourier coefficients have been derived for the V and R light curves of 785 overtone RR Lyrae variables in 16 MACHO fields near the bar of the LMC. Description: Our investigation is based on the RR Lyrae data from 16 LMC fields observed for the MACHO project. The LMC fields included are Nos. 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 47, 80, 81, and 82, all of which are close to the bar. The field of view for each field is 0.52deg2. An identification chart and a list of the right ascension and declination of the field centers are available at http://wwwmacho.mcmaster.ca . Note (2): Eq. (1): mag = A0 + {Sum(j)}Aj*cos(jwt+φj), where w is 2π/period, t is the time of the observation, n is the order of the fit, and φj the j phase. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: table6.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 12 A12 --- MACHO Object identification 14- 15 I2 h RAh Hour of right ascension (J2000) 17- 18 I2 min RAm Minute of right ascension (J2000) 20- 25 F6.3 s RAs Second of right ascension (J2000) 27 A1 --- DE- Sign of the declination (J2000) 28- 29 I2 deg DEd Degree of declination (J2000) 31- 32 I2 arcmin DEm Arcminute of declination (J2000) 34- 38 F5.2 arcsec DEs Arcsecond of declination (J2000) 40- 47 F8.6 d Per Period 49- 53 F5.2 mag Vmag Mean V-band magnitude (1) 55- 59 F5.2 mag Rmag Mean R-band magnitude (1) 61- 64 F4.2 rad F31 The φ31 value for the V-band data 66- 69 F4.2 rad e_F31 The 1σ error in F31 71 I1 --- TNum Table where the data can be found -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note (1): The A0 value derived from eq.
