Abstract:
A map of high-velocity features in the 3'x5' central region of the
Orion Nebula was created from slit spectra with a velocity resolution
of 8km/s. Spatial velocities of 19 features belonging to 11 HH objects
were obtained by combining these radial velocity data with existing
proper motion data.
Description:
We observed the Orion Nebula with the echelle spectrograph attached at
the f8 Cassegrain focus of the Mayall 4m telescope at KPNO on 2000
January 21, 23, 24, and October 7, 9, 2001 December 31, and 2002
January 2.

Note (2): In the same arbitrary units throughout.
Note (3): The radial velocity was measured at peaks of the flux intensity by
using a Gaussian fitting. The peaks are defined as follows:
p = primary peak;
s = secondary peak;
t = tertiary peak;
Note (4): Additional comments, defined as follows:
i = radial velocity measured directly from the slit spectrum visually for
the peak intensity;
v = radial velocity measured directly from the slit spectrum visually for
the maximum velocity.

Note (1): The uncertainty on the spatial velocity is ±11km/s

The uncertainty on the orientation angle is:
±12° for a spatial velocity of 50km/s
±6° for a spatial velocity of 100km/s
±4° for a spatial velocity of 150km/s
±2° for a spatial velocity of 300km/s
Note (3): Radial velocity with respect to the photon dominated region (PDR),
provided by adding -10km/s to the radial velocity with respect to the
systemic velocity. The uncertainty is ±5km/s.
Note (4): The uncertainty on the tangential velocity is ±10km/s

±16° for a tangential velocity of 50km/s
