Abstract:
Type 2 quasars are luminous active galactic nuclei whose central
regions are obscured by large amounts of gas and dust. In this paper,
we present a catalog of type 2 quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky
Survey, selected based on their optical emission lines. The catalog
contains 887 objects with redshifts z<0.83; this is 6 times larger
than the previous version and is by far the largest sample of type 2
quasars in the literature.

Note (1): Binary number: the first four digits of the target code show
whether the object was targeted by the Galaxy, Low-z QSO, High-z QSO,
or Serendipity FIRST algorithm (in that order). The last digit
indicates whether the object belongs to the Special Southern survey.
Note (2): Of the nearest match within 2" from the FIRST survey (Becker et
al., 1995, See Cat. VIII/71); 0 = no match was found. -1 = object is
not in the FIRST survey area.
Note (3): PSF asinh magnitudes are taken from the SDSS TARGET database and
corrected for Galactic extinction (Schlegel et al.,
1998ApJ...500..525S 1998ApJ...500..525S).
