Abstract:
The Chandra Transmission Grating Data Archive and Catalog (TGCat)
provides easy access to analysis-ready products, specifically,
high-resolution X-ray count spectra and their corresponding
calibrations. The web interface makes it easy to find observations of
a particular object, type of object, or type of observation; to
quickly assess the quality and potential usefulness of the spectra
from pre-computed summary plots; or to customize a view with an
interactive plotter, optionally combining spectra over multiple orders
or observations. Data and responses can be downloaded as a package or
as individual files, and the query results themselves can be retrieved
as ASCII or Virtual Observatory tables. Portable reprocessing scripts
used to create the archive and which use the Chandra X-ray Center's
(CXC's) software and other publicly available software are also
available, facilitating standard or customized reprocessing from Level
1 CXC archival data to spectra and responses with minimal user
interaction.
Description:
The primary source for TGCat input data is the Chandra Data Archive
(CDA), http://cda.harvard.edu/chaser/.

Note (1): Each row is one spectral extraction. Table is sorted by RA ascending,
grouped by object, then by date of observation in descending order
Note (2): "none" indicates that the zeroth order centroid coordinates for that
observation were determined manually by a member of the TGCat science team.
Note (3): Where (CSC = Chandra Source Catalog, http://cxc.harvard.edu/csc/)
MEG-band = 1.7-25Å (0.5-7.3keV)
HEG-band = 1.7-15Å (0.8-7.3keV)
CSC b band = 2.0-24.8Å (0.5-6.2keV)
CSC s band = 10.33-24.8Å (0.5-1.2keV)
CSC m band = 6.2-10.33Å (1.2-2.0keV)
CSC h band = 2.0-6.2Å (2.0-6.2keV)
All rates and fluxes are for combined positive and negative orders.
For HETGS, they are also for combined HEG and MEG spectra. LETG/HRC
counts have been background subtracted, but HETG/ACIS and LETG/ACIS
data have not been so corrected. For LETG/HRC flux values have not
been computed since they are model-dependent due to overlapping
high-order contributions in the counts.
