This catalog of Las Campanas Compact Groups (LCCGs) contains 76 CGs with a median redshift of zmed∼0.08. The physical properties of these CGs are similar to those form Hickson (1982, Cat. VII/213) and the Barton et al. (1996AJ....112..871B 1996AJ....112..871B) catalogs. Here, we present an atlas of our catalog and briefly describe its general properties. (Since several other group catalogs have photometry in the de Vaucouleurs B0 band, it is useful to note this rough conversion relation: LLCRS∼1.1LB0) Ltot is in solLum/h2. Note (2): Type of field in which the group sits: 1: a 50-fiber field 2: a 112-fiber field Note (3): Notes to the group: a: the group's barycenter is closer than 2RP (pairwise separation) to a slice edge b: the group contains at least one 55-arcsec 'orphan' with a mock redshift -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: table3.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 2 I2 --- LCCG Group identification number 3 A1 --- m_LCCG Member designation (1) 5- 6 I2 h RAh Member's right ascension (1950) 8- 9 I2 min RAm Member's right ascension (1950) 11- 15 F5.2 s RAs Member's right ascension (1950) 17 A1 --- DE- Member's declination sign (1950) 18- 19 I2 deg DEd Member's declination (1950) 21- 22 I2 arcmin DEm Member's declination (1950) 24- 27 F4.1 arcsec DEs Member's declination (1950) 29- 33 F5.2 mag Rmag Member's LCRS R-band isophotal magnitude 35- 39 I5 km/s Vel Member's velocity (2) 41- 44 F4.2 --- zphot Photometric redshift 46 A1 --- Spectrum [cebm] Qualitative description of the group member's spectrum (3) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note (1): Letter "a" represents the brightest group member, letter "b" the second brightest group member, and so on. Note (2): In generating catalog, each 55-arcsec 'orphan' was assigned a mock velocity equal to the gaussian-convolved velocity of its nearest neighbor (a gaussian of σ=200km/s was used); this mock velocity is listed in this column for 55-arcsec 'orphan' group members. Note (3): Qualitative description of the group member's spectrum: c: a "continuum" spectrum (i.e., a spectrum with no strong emission line features) e: a spectrum containing strong emission lines b: a spectrum which shows both absorption lines (as in a continuum spectrum) and weak emission lines m: a 55-arcsec 'orphan' with a mock redshift -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acknowledgements: Sahar Allam , Douglas Tucker
