ADC_Keywords: Molecular clouds ; Radio lines ; Masers Keywords: masers - radio lines: ISM - stars: individual: Orion BN/KL Abstract: Measurements of the 616 -> 523 line of H2O at 1.3cm in the Orion region of star formation are reported. With a spatial resolution of ∼0.1", H2O maser emission was detected in two regions: Orion BN/KL and Orion S. The well-known masers in the BN/KL region are distributed in a 30"x30" area. The "shell" masers, within the BN/KL region, are distributed in a 2" by 0.5" strip centered on radio source I and are offset from IRc2. Description: The radio wavelength observations were made in 1991 August 5 under good weather conditions with the VLA 4 A configuration, which nominally provides baseline lengths from 0.68 to 36.4km. The total duration of the observations was 5h.
