These independent observations, analyzed by similar but distinct methods, confirm the results of Riess (1998AJ....116.1009R 1998AJ....116.1009R) and Perlmutter (1999ApJ...517..565P 1999ApJ...517..565P) and coworkers that supernova luminosity distances imply an accelerating universe. Description: The SNe Ia reported here were discovered at the CFHT using the CFH 12K camera and at the CTIO 4m Blanco telescope using the CTIO Mosaic camera. We obtained templates in 1999 October and obtained subsequent images in November to find new objects, plausibly supernovae, with a rise time in the observer frame of ∼1 month. We obtained spectra of our SN Ia candidates with LRIS on the Keck II telescope during five nights between 1999 November 8 and 14.
