Abstract:
We present a detailed description of the first direct measurement of
the spatial correlation function of X-ray-selected active galactic
nuclei (AGNs). This result is based on an X-ray flux-limited sample of
219 AGNs discovered in the contiguous 80.7°2 region of the ROSAT
North Ecliptic Pole (NEP) Survey (Cat. J/ApJS/149/29).

Note (1): "a" indicates that RX J1824.7+6509 (NEP 5500) was formerly classified
as a stellar X-ray source based on the literature. However, more
recent work convincingly demonstrates this source is a type 1 AGN at
z=0.303 (e.g., Engels et al. 1998, Cat. J/A+AS/128/507).
Note (2): The count rate (0.1-2.4keV) is measured in a circular photometry
aperture (5' radius).
Note (3): We have converted from count rate to unabsorbed flux assuming a
power-law spectrum with photon index of 2. The total flux accounts
for the flux outside the photometry aperture and reflects the size
correction applied to the detect flux. For point sources such as AGN
this flux corretion factor is constant and equal to 1.0369.
Note (4): Adopted cosmology: H0=70.h70.km/s/Mpc, ΩM=0.3,
ΩΛ=0.7; K-correction factor of 1 for a power-law
spectrum of photon index 2.
Note (5): Typical uncertainty is ≤0.001.
