ADC_Keywords: Clusters, globular ; Photometry, HST Keywords: globular clusters: individual (NGC 5904) - stars: distances - stars: Population II - subdwarfs - white dwarfs Abstract: We present deep VI photometry of stars in the globular cluster M5 (NGC 5904) based on images taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. The resulting color-magnitude diagram reaches below V∼7mag, revealing the upper 2-3mag of the white dwarf cooling sequence and main-sequence stars 8mag and more below the turnoff. Description: Images of a region in M5 were obtained using the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) aboard HST as part of program GO-8310. Note (5): The value of class is approximately the probability that any given object is stellar, with 1.0 representing definite resolved sources, and 0.0 representing definite non-stellar sources. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: From electronic version of the journal
