Abstract:
We have surveyed the 30Myr old cluster NGC 2547 for planetary debris
disks using Spitzer. At 4.5-8um we are sensitive to the photospheric
level down to mid-M stars (0.2M☉), and at 24um to early G stars
(1.2M☉).
Description:
Spitzer observed a ∼1° wide area centered on NGC 2547 with the
IRAC and MIPS instruments at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, 8.0, and 24um central
wavelengths. Observations of NGC 2547 with IRAC were obtained on 2003
December 19.
For multisplit spectroscopy, the observations were performed in two
runs in 2005 with the multiobject spectrograph IMACS on the 6.5m
Baade telescope (Magellan I) at Las Campanas, Chile.
For two solar-type members with strong Spitzer excesses, IDs 8 and 9,
we obtained K-band spectra targeting the CO bandhead at 2.3um to
verify that these stars are not late-type interlopers. The spectra
were obtained with SofI (Son of ISAAC) at the ESO 3.6m New Technology
Telescope on 2006 September 5.

of the aperture by a nearby source, cosmic ray or strong nebulosity
Note (2): 'h' indicates an extended (halo-like) source at 24µm
