ADC_Keywords: Supernovae ; Redshifts ; Photometry, UBVRI Keywords: cosmological parameters - cosmology: observations - supernovae: general Abstract: We present a new compilation of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), a new data set of low-redshift nearby-Hubble-flow SNe, and new analysis procedures to work with these heterogeneous compilations. This "Union" compilation of 414 SNe Ia, which reduces to 307 SNe after selection cuts, includes the recent large samples of SNe Ia from the Supernova Legacy Survey and ESSENCE Survey, the older data sets, as well as the recently extended data set of distant supernovae observed with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). A single, consistent, and blind analysis procedure is used for all the various SN Ia subsamples, and a new procedure is implemented that consistently weights the heterogeneous data sets and rejects outliers. We present the latest results from this Union compilation and discuss the cosmological constraints from this new compilation and its combination with other cosmological measurements (CMB and BAO). Description: The SN light curve data presented in this paper were obtained as part of the SCP Nearby 1999 Supernova Campaign (Aldering 2000AIPC..522...75A 2000AIPC..522...75A) and was performed in collaboration with a number of wide-field CCD imaging teams: EROS-II, NGSS, QUEST-I, NEAT, and Spacewatch. Photometric follow-up observations were obtained with the LICK 1m, YALO 1m, CTIO 0.9m, CTIO 1.5m, MARLY, Danish 1.5m, ESO 3.6m, KPNO 2.1m, JKT 1m, CFHT 3.6m, KECK-I 10m, WIYN 3.5m, and MLO 1m telescopes. These consist of UBVRI photometry with a nominal cadence of 3-7 days. The follow-up observations were performed between February and 1999 June, and additional reference images to determine the contribution of host galaxy light contamination were obtained in spring 2000.
