Abstract:
We present galaxy luminosity functions at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8.0um
measured by combining photometry from the IRAC Shallow Survey with
redshifts from the AGN and Galaxy Evolution Survey (AGES) of the NOAO
Deep Wide-Field Survey Bootes field. The well defined IRAC samples
contain 3800-5800 galaxies for the 3.6-8.0um bands with
spectroscopic redshifts and z<0.6. We obtained relatively complete
luminosity functions in the local redshift bin of z<0.2 for all four
IRAC channels that are well fitted by Schechter functions.
Description:
We measured the mid-IR galaxy LFs in the NDWFS Bootes field by
combining IRAC photometry from the IRAC Shallow Survey and AGES
redshifts. This field is also covered by multiwavelength data in the
UV (GALEX; Martin et al. 2005ApJ...619L...1M 2005ApJ...619L...1M), optical (NDWFS), z-band
(zBootes; Cool 2007ApJS..169...21C 2007ApJS..169...21C), near-IR (NDWFS and FLAMEX; Elston
et al., 2006, Cat. J/ApJ/639/816), and far-IR (24um; Soifer et al.
2004AAS...204.4805S 2004AAS...204.4805S), allowing us to use spectral energy distribution
(SED) models to type the galaxies and make K-corrections.
