Abstract:
Expanding upon the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) survey from Dahm &
Hillenbrand (2007, Cat. J/AJ/133/2072), we describe Spitzer IRAC and
Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer observations of the populous,
5Myr old open cluster NGC 2362. We analyze the mid-IR colors of
cluster members and compared their spectral energy distributions
(SEDs) to star+circumstellar disk models to constrain the disk
morphologies and evolutionary states. Combining our data with other
Spitzer surveys, we investigate the evolution of debris disks around
high/intermediate-mass stars and investigate timescales for giant
planet formation.
Description:
NGC 2362 was observed with the IRAC on 2004 March 3 as a part of the
Guaranteed Time Observations (GTO) program (Program ID 37). IRAC data
cover an area of ∼0.3deg2 centered near RAJ2000∼07h19m00s,
DEJ2000~-24°27'00".
NGC 2362 was imaged with the MIPS on 2004 March 17 also as a part of
the GTO program (ID 58). MIPS data cover ∼0.5deg2 on the sky with
boundaries of RAJ2000∼07h17m45s to 07h20m00s and
DEJ2000~-25°26'00" to -24°33'00".
