Abstract:
We report on 0.3-10keV X-ray observations by the Chandra X-ray
Observatory of the fields of 22 sources that were discovered as hard
X-ray (20-100keV) sources by the International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics
Satellite ("IGR" sources). The observations were made during Chandra's
9th observing cycle, and their purpose is to localize the sources and
to measure their soft X-ray spectra in order to determine the nature
of the sources. We find very likely Chandra counterparts for 18 of the
22 sources.
Description:
For Chandra follow-up observations, we chose sources from the 27th
INTEGRAL General Reference Catalog that were detected in the 20-40keV
band as of 2007 March. We chose the 22 sources listed in Table 1 for
∼5ks "snapshot" observations, between 2007 November and 2009 February,
with Chandra to provide precise X-ray localizations as well as
information about their soft X-ray spectra.

Note (1): Between the center of the INTEGRAL error circle, which is also
the approximate Chandra aimpoint, and the source.
Note (2): The position uncertainties for these relatively bright sources
are dominated by the systematic error, which is 0.64" at 90%
confidence and 1" at 99% confidence (Weisskopf M.C.,
2005astro.ph..3091W 2005astro.ph..3091W).
Note (3): Where HR=(C2-C1)/(C2+C1) and C1 is the number of source counts in the
0.3-2keV band and C2 is the number of source counts in the 2-10keV band.
