The primary goal of this campaign was to obtain either new or improved Hβ reverberation lag measurements for several relatively low luminosity active galactic nuclei (AGNs). We feature results for NGC 4051 here because, until now, this object has been a significant outlier from AGN scaling relationships, e.g., it was previously a ∼2-3σ outlier on the relationship between the broad-line region (BLR) radius and the optical continuum luminosity - the RBLR-L relationship. Our new measurements of the lag time between variations in the continuum and Hβ emission line made from spectroscopic monitoring of NGC 4051 lead to a measured BLR radius of RBLR=1.87+0.54-0.50 light days and black hole mass of MBH=(1.73+0.55-0.52)x106M. We also present a preliminary look at velocity-resolved Hβ light curves and time delay measurements, although we are unable to reconstruct an unambiguous velocity-resolved reverberation signal. Description: Spectra of the nuclear region of NGC 4051 were obtained from both the 1.3m telescope at MDM Observatory and the 2.6m Shajn telescope of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (CrAO). The MDM observations utilized the Boller and Chivens CCD spectrograph, where 86 observations were taken over the course of 89 nights between JD2454184 and JD2454269, targeting the Hβ4861 and [OIII]4959,5007 emission-line region of the optical spectrum. We acquired 22 CrAO spectra over 34 nights between JD2454266 and JD2454300 with the Nasmith spectrograph and SPEC-10 1340x100 pixel CCD. In addition to spectral observations, we obtained supplemental V-band photometry from the 2.0m Multicolor Active Galactic NUclei Monitoring (MAGNUM) telescope at the Haleakala Observatories in Hawaii (photometric fluxes measured from 23 observations between JD2454182 and JD2454311 within an aperture of 8.3"), the 70cm telescope of the CrAO (76 CrAO photometric observations were collected between J245D4180 and JD2454299), and the 0.4m telescope of the University of Nebraska (28 nights between JD2454195 and JD2454290). This column contains the average continuum flux density measured at rest-frame ∼5100Å from spectroscopic observations as well as the V-band flux from photometric observations. Spectroscopic and photometric fluxes were intercalibrated and merged to create a single continuum light curve (see Section 2.3). MAGNUM = 2.0-m Multicolor Active Galactic NUclei Monitoring telescope. MDM = 1.3-meter telescope at MDM Observatory. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: From electronic version of the journal
