ADC_Keywords: Clusters, galaxy ; Surveys ; Redshifts Keywords: galaxies: clusters: general - galaxies: elliptical and lenticular, cD - galaxies: evolution Abstract: Identification of high-redshift clusters is important for studies of cosmology and cluster evolution. Using photometric redshifts of galaxies, we identify 631 clusters from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) wide field, 202 clusters from the CFHT deep field, 187 clusters from the Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) field, and 737 clusters from the Spitzer Wide-area InfraRed Extragalactic Survey (SWIRE) field. The redshifts of these clusters are in the range 0.1≲z≲1.6. Merging these cluster samples gives 1644 clusters in the four survey fields, of which 1088 are newly identified and more than half are from the large SWIRE field. Among 228 clusters of z≥1, 191 clusters are newly identified, and most of them from the SWIRE field. With this large sample of high-redshift clusters, we study the color evolution of the brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs). Description: The CFHT survey is carried out with the 3.6m CFHT in the u', g', r', i', and z' bands for three imaging sub-surveys: the CFHT Deep Survey, the CFHT Wide Survey, and the CFHT Very Wide Survey. The photo-z data of the deep and wide fields have been published and used in previous works (see references in Section 1.1). The CFHT wide survey covers 35deg2 in three deep fields (W1, W3, W4). The CFHT Deep survey covers 3.2deg2 in four deep fields (D1, D2, D3, D4). COSMOS is formed from a field of 2deg2 by many observations from X-ray to radio (XMM, Galaxy Evolution Explorer, Hubble Space Telescope, CFHT, United Kingdom Infrared Telescope, Subaru, Spitzer, and Very Large Array). Spitzer SWIRE provides photometry (Lonsdale et al. 2003PASP..115..897L 2003PASP..115..897L) in the IRAC bands of 3.6um, 4.5um, 5.8um, and 8.0um and MIPS bands of 24um, 70um, and 160um for six regions (ELAIS-N1, ELAIS-N2, Lockman Hole, XMM, ELAIS-S1, and the Chandra Deep Field South (CDFS)). The photometries in optical bands u, g, r, i, and z (the band only here, not the redshift) are available from the SWIRE photometry program and from McMahon et al. (2001NewAR..45...97M 2001NewAR..45...97M) and Pierre et al. (2007, Cat. J/MNRAS/382/279). Detailed parameters for the four fields are given in Table 1, including the field size, magnitude limit, number of bands for photometry, and the accuracy of photo-z : -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name Field l_mag e_z No. r_zph NCl NnewCl Nhz Nnewhz (deg2) Bands -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CFHT Wide 35.0 i'<22.5 0.038 5 1 631 285 24 19 CFHT Deep 3.2 i'<24 0.029 5 1,2 202 55 53 29 COSMOS 2.0 i+<25 0.012 30 3 187 127 43 38 SWIRE 33.0 r<24 0.035 5-12 4 737 674 116 106 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References for photo-z: (1) Coupon et al. 2009A&A...500..981C 2009A&A...500..981C; (2) Ilbert et al. 2006A&A...457..841I 2006A&A...457..841I; (3) Ilbert et al. 2009ApJ...690.1236I 2009ApJ...690.1236I; (4) Rowan-Robinson et al.
