Among 507 WISE 22µm selected sources with (S/N)22µm≥3 (~S22µm≳2.5mJy), we identify the optical counterparts of 481 sources (∼98%) at R<25.2 in the very deep, DLS R-band source catalog. Among them, 337 galaxies at R<21 have SHELS spectroscopic data. Most of these objects are at z<0.8. The infrared (IR) luminosities are in the range 4.5x108(L)≲LIR≲5.4x1012(L). Most 22µm selected galaxies are dusty star-forming galaxies with a small (<1.5) 4000Å break. The stacked spectra of the 22 µm selected galaxies binned in IR luminosity show that the strength of the [O III] line relative to Hβ grows with increasing IR luminosity. The optical spectra of the 22µm selected galaxies also show that there are some (∼2.8%) unusual galaxies with very strong [Ne III] λ3869, 3968 emission lines that require hard ionizing radiation such as active galactic nuclei (AGNs) or extremely young massive stars. The specific star formation rates (sSFRs) derived from the 3.6 and 22µm flux densities are enhanced if the 22µm selected galaxies have close late-type neighbors. The sSFR distribution of the 22µm selected galaxies containing AGNs is similar to the distribution for star-forming galaxies without AGNs. We identify 48 dust-obscured galaxy candidates with large (≳1000) mid-IR to optical flux density ratio. The combination of deep photometric and spectroscopic data with WISE data suggests that WISE can probe the universe to z∼2. Description: The Smithsonian Hectospec Lensing Survey (SHELS) is a magnitude-limited redshift survey covering the 4deg2 region of the DLS (Deep Lens Survey) F2 field (Geller et al. 2005ApJ...635L.125G 2005ApJ...635L.125G, 2010ApJ...709..832G 2010ApJ...709..832G, 2012, Cat. J/AJ/143/102). The F2 field is one of the five fields and is centered on RA=09h19m32.4s and DE=+30:00:00. The DLS R-band images were taken in seeing 0.9"; the source detection on these images reaches down to 28.7mag/arcsec2. The spectroscopic observations for SHELS galaxies were conducted for galaxies down to Rmag=20.6 with the Hectospec 300 fiber spectrograph on the MMT (see Geller et al. 2012, Cat. J/AJ/143/102, for detailed description of the spectroscopic observations). The spectra cover the wavelength range 3650-9150Å with a resolution of ∼6Å. We use the WISE all-sky survey catalog, which contains uniform photometric data for over 563 million objects at four MIR bands (3.4, 4.6, 12, and 22um). WISE covers the entire region of the SHELS field to a homogeneous depth.
