Abstract:
She+ (Paper I, 2017, J/ApJ/835/223) assembled a catalog of nearby
galaxies observed with the Chandra X-ray observatory, by
cross-matching galaxies in the NASA Extragalactic Database within
50Mpc and the Chandra archive. That sample has enabled searches of
low-mass black holes associated with late-type, bulgeless galaxies and
studies of the accretion physics related to low-luminosity active
galactic nuclei (AGNs). Using a similar approach, here we construct an
extended catalog up to 150Mpc and make a cross-correlation with a
catalog of nearby galaxy groups. The new catalog consists of
1964 galaxies, out of which 1692 have a redshift-independent distance,
1557 are listed in the galaxy group catalog with group properties
available, and 782 are identified to be X-ray AGN candidates. Compared
with the AGN sample in Paper I, the new sample is 2.5 times larger in
size (782 versus 314), with ∼80% of the new members having an
Eddington ratio less than 10-4. We confirm that the conclusions
based on the previous sample remain. With the new sample, we compare
AGN fractions between early-type and late-type galaxies, and between
central and satellite galaxies in groups, and find no significant
difference. This suggests that the secular process is not the dominant
mechanism feeding AGNs in the local universe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note (1): Converted from the group recession velocity assuming h=0.7
Note (2): ":" and "::" indicate a classification which is uncertain
and highly uncertain, respectively (Ho+ 1997, J/ApJS/112/315).
Note (3): Galactic extinction (Cardelli+ 1989ApJ...345..245C 1989ApJ...345..245C) corrected,
NUV is the Kron-like elliptical aperture magnitude
of the host galaxy adopted from GALEX (Bianchi+ 2017, II/335), and
the B magnitude is adopted from RC3 (de Vaucouleurs+ 1991, VII/155);
Note (4): From the Palomar survey (Ho+ 1997, J/ApJS/112/315 and
2003ApJ...583..159H 2003ApJ...583..159H).
Note (5): The typical uncertainty is 10-30%, and the letters "b", "c", "L"
and "u" indicate an uncertainty of 30-50%, 100%, a 3σ
lower limit, and a 3σ upper limit, respectively.
Note (6): Estimated using the MBH-σ relation.
More details are in the text.
Note (7): Estimated using the MBH-{gal} relation. More details are in the text.
Note (8): H0 = (hard-soft-medium)/full,
H1 = (medium-soft)/full, and
H2 = (hard-medium)/full,
where soft, medium, hard and full are counts in the
energy band of 0.3-1, 1-2, 2-8, and 0.3-8keV respectively.
Note (9): Inferred from hardness ratios.
Note (10): Based on the X-ray luminosity
and a bolometric correction factor of 16 (Ho 2008)
Note (11): See text for details. Here "PL", "ME", "VME", "PABS", "BB", "G"
denote the powerlaw, mekal, vmekal, pcfabs, bbody, and gaussian (for
iron Kα line) model in XSPEC, respectively.
Note (12): Units are photons/keV/cm2/s.
Note (13): Normalization of mekal or blackbody component in fitting model, if
available. It is equal to (1e-14/4πD2) Integral(nenH dV for
a mekal component, where D is the distance to the source, and ne,
nH are the electron and hydrogen densities respectively. It is
equal to L39/D102 for a blackbody component, where L39 is the
source luminosity in units of 1e39erg/s, and D10 is the distance
to the source in units of 10kpc.
Note (14): In a few cases, the errors are not available due to poor statistics.
Note (15): Note as follows:
Fit = luminosity derived from spectral fitting (otherwise from count rates).
HR = spectral shape is estimated from hardness ratios.
G1.8 = assumes a spectrum with Γ=1.8 and Galactic NH0.
