These galaxies span the entire Hubble sequence in morphological type, as well as a wide range of luminosities (MB=-14 to -22) and colors (B-R=0.4-1.8). Here we describe the sample selection criteria and the U, B, R surface photometry for these galaxies. The spectrophotometric results will be presented in a companion paper (Cat. J/ApJS/126/331). Description: The photometric observations reported here were made with CCD cameras at the F. L. Whipple Observatory's 1.2m telescope. he data were obtained during 50 dark nights between 1994 March and 1997 March.. We obtained B and R images with the front-side illuminated CCD. Beginning in 1995 October, the back-side illuminated CCD camera was commissioned, allowing U exposures. The U and B filters closely follow the Johnson system, while the R filter follows the Cousins system.
