Abstract:
We present photometry and spectroscopy for seven deep fields
containing distant clusters of galaxies with 0.35<z<0.55. Positions
and photometric parameters, including r-magnitudes g-r and r-i
colors, surface brightnesses, and photometric profile types are given
for about 2000 galaxies. Low-resolution spectroscopy is obtained from
which redshifts are determined for 289 objects, of which 190 are
cluster members.
Description:
Photometric observations were made of these clusters using PFUEI and
4-Shooter cameras on the 200 inch Palomar Hale Telescope.
Spectroscopic observations were made on roughly 60 nights from 1980 to
1989. Data were taken with the PFUEI at the prime focus and the
4-Shooter at Cassegrain focus.

Note (1): Position from a central bright galaxy listed in Table 9 of
the paper (aligned to the cardinal directions for all but
CL0024+1654, see paper).
Note (2): The explanations for columns (4) and (5) in the paper (p47)
seem to be different from those in the top of each Table.
Note (3): the fitting class is
d = de Vaucouleurs,
u = unresolved,
e = exponential
Note (4): Average surface brightness inside the effective radius.
The unit is not described in the paper, and is cited from
Schneider et al. (1986AJ.....92..523S 1986AJ.....92..523S).
Note (5): Caution flag for fit:
A = asymmetric
C = confused
F = too flat
S = sky is more than 5 sigma deviant
Note (6): details are in the paper, p50. The first letter indicates a
member (m) or field (f) galaxy; the following letters give a rough
description of the spectrum.
