Among them a large majority of these pre-main-sequence candidate sources are concentrated towards regions closer to Sim 129 and Sim 130. Description: The optical CCD UBV(RI)c photometry of the field containing NGC 1893 was carried out to study the cluster properties (like distance, age, extinction, reddening law, etc., Paper II, Saurabh et al., in prep.). The data were obtained on 2005 January 6 using the 2048x2048 pixel CCD camera mounted on the f/13 Cassegrain focus of the 104-cm Sampurnanand telescope of ARIES, Nainital. An Hα emission survey of the field containing Sim 129, Sim 130 was conducted on 2005 January 25 using Hanle Faint Object Spectrograph Camera (HFOSC) at the f/9 Cassegrain focus of Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT) at Hanle, India. The NIR JHKs magnitudes of the stars within a circle of radius 30' about IRAS 05198+3325 were obtained from 2MASS catalogue (Cutri et al., 2003, Cat. II/246).
