Abstract:
We present near-infrared colour-magnitude diagrams and physical
parameters for a sample of 12 galactic globular clusters located
towards the inner bulge region. For each cluster we provide
measurements of the reddening, distance and photometric metallicity
and of the luminosity of the horizontal branch red clump and the red
giant branch bump and tip. The sample discussed here, together with
that presented in Valenti, Ferraro & Origlia (2007, Cat.
J/AJ/133/1287), represents the largest homogeneous catalogue of bulge
globular clusters (comprising ∼80 per cent of the entire bulge
cluster population) ever studied.
The compilation is available in electronic form on the World Wide Web
(http://www.bo.astro.it/~GC/ir_archive).
Description:
A set of J, H and K images of 12 bulge clusters, namely Ter 1, 2, 4,
9, Lill 1, HP 1, Djo 1, 2, NGC 6540, 6544, 6522 and 6453, was obtained
at the European Southern Observatory (ESO), La Silla, during two
observing runs in 2007 July and 2008 June. We used the near-IR camera
SofI, mounted on the ESO New Technology Telescope (NTT) in large
field-mode, which is characterized by a pixel size of 0.288arcsec and
a total field of view of 4.9x4.9arcmin2.

Note (1): For all the clusters marked with (*) the metallicity estimates
([Fe/H] and [M/H]) have been derived by using the empirical method of
Ferraro, Valenti & Origlia (2006ApJ...649..243F 2006ApJ...649..243F; see also IR relations
at http://www.bo.astro.it/~GC/ir_archive/IRrelations.html)
Note (2): [Fe/H] is in the Carretta & Gratton (1997, J/A+AS/121/95) scale.
Note (3): The Bolometric magnitudes of the RGB Bump and Tip have been
derived by using the bolometric corrections for Population II giants
computed by Montegriffo et al. (1998MNRAS.297..872M 1998MNRAS.297..872M), and by adopting
the reddening and distance values listed in Table 1 and the extinction
coefficients of Savage & Mathis (1979ARA&A..17...73S 1979ARA&A..17...73S).
