We found 521 DAs with detectable Zeeman splittings, with fields in the range from around 1 to 733MG, which amounts to 4% of all DAs observed. As the SDSS spectra have low signal-to-noise ratios, we carefully investigated by simulations with theoretical spectra how reliable our detection of magnetic field was. Description: We classified more than 48000 spectra, selected as possible white dwarf stars from the SDSS DR7 by their colours, through visual inspection and detected Zeeman splittings in 521 DA stars. Table 1 shows the estimated values for the magnetic fields for the 521 spectra we measured.
