Abstract:
Using the HST archives, we have searched portions of the southern half
and northwest quarter of the Andromeda Galaxy (M 31, NGC 224) for
previously unrecognized star clusters. The result is a table of the
characteristics of 71 newly identified star clusters. Most are
moderately faint, low-mass clusters. Absolute magnitudes range from
M(V)=-6.3 to -2.5.
Description:
Cluster photometry was carried out using a program written in IDL
(Krienke & Hodge, 2007PASP..119....7K 2007PASP..119....7K, Cat. J/PASP/119/7). Magnitudes
were derived in the HST photometric system and transformed to the UBV
system using the methods of Holtzman et al. (1995PASP..107.1065H 1995PASP..107.1065H) and
Sirianni et al. (2005PASP..117.1049S 2005PASP..117.1049S).
