ADC_Keywords: QSOs ; Radio sources ; Radio lines Keywords: catalogues - quasars: absorption lines - radio continuum: galaxies - early universe Abstract: We present a catalogue of the 322 damped Lyman alpha absorbers taken from the literature. All damped Lyman alpha absorbers are included, with no selection on redshift or quasar magnitude. Of these, 123 are candidates and await confirmation using high resolution spectroscopy. For all 322 objects we catalogue the radio properties of the background quasars, when known. Around 60 quasars have radio flux densities above 0.1Jy and approximately half of these have optical magnitudes brighter than V=18. This compilation should prove useful in several areas of extragalactic/cosmological research. Chengalur (in preparation); Carilli et al. (1996AJ....111.1830C 1996AJ....111.1830C) obtained tau<0.02 and 0.1, respectively. GPS designates a GHz peaked source with the approximate turnover frequency given in parenthesis. In the case of the `U-shaped' SEDs, [HB89] 0215+015 is known to exhibit radio outbursts (e.g. Ledden & Odell, 1985ApJ...298..630L 1985ApJ...298..630L ) and so the flux densities quoted will be variable. For PKS 0454+039 and [HB89] 1331+170, these could be due to an anomalous flux density measurement and both are considered flat spectrum sources (e.g. Wampler et al., 1984ApJ...276..403W 1984ApJ...276..403W; Mattox et al., 1997ApJ...481...95M 1997ApJ...481...95M). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: refnhi.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 2 I2 --- Ref Reference number 4- 22 A19 --- BibCode BibCode 24- 52 A29 --- Aut Author's name 55- 97 A43 --- Com Comments -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: refflux.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 3 A3 --- Ref Code for the references 5- 23 A19 --- BibCode BibCode 25- 55 A31 --- Aut Author's name 57-176 A120 --- Com Comments -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: notes.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 25 A25 --- Name Quasar name 26- 93 A68 --- Note Text of the note -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: From electronic version of the journal * 14-Feb-2003: Corected in table2 the names J074110.6+311200 and [HB89] 0439-4319 to keep them compatible with table1.
