J/AJ/139/1383 Radial velocities in M35 (NGC 2168) (Geller+, 2010) ================================================================================ WIYN open cluster study. XXXVIII. Stellar radial velocities in the young open cluster M35 (NGC 2168). Geller A.M., Mathieu R.D., Braden E.K., Meibom S., Platais I., Dolan C.J. =2010AJ....139.1383G ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Clusters, open ; Binaries, spectroscopic ; Radial velocities ; Rotational velocities Keywords: binaries: spectroscopic - open clusters and associations: individual (NGC 2168) Abstract: We present 5201 radial-velocity (RV) measurements of 1144 stars as part of an ongoing study of the young (150Myr) open cluster M35 (NGC 2168). We have observed M35 since 1997, using the Hydra Multi-Object Spectrograph on the WIYN 3.5m telescope. Source 23013 shows a systemic trend in the radial velocities, though the derived e/i value is below 4. Note (2): Source of photometry as follows: 1 = wide-field CCD images centered on M35, taken by T. von Hippel with the Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) Burrell Schmidt telescope on 1993 November 18 and 19. 2 = BV photometry of C. P. Deliyannis (2006, private communication), taken on the WIYN7 0.9m telescope with the S2KB 2K by 2K CCD. This photometry derives from a mosaic of five fields. Each field has a 20'x20' field of view, with one central field and four tiled around the center, for a total field of view of 40'x40'. We note that source 2 photometry is more precise than that of source 1. The star-by-star difference in V magnitudes for the two sources is roughly Gaussian with {sigma}=0.06mag. However, there is a tail that extends beyond three times this sigma value. Therefore, we caution the reader when using magnitudes from source 1. Note (3): the classes are as follows: BM = binary member (membership probability from {gamma}-RV is >=50%) BN = binary non-member (membership probability from {gamma}-RV is <50%) BLM = binary likely member (no orbital solution) BLN = binary likely non-member (no orbital solution) BU = binary with unknown membership SM = single member star (membership probability from RV is >=50%) SN = single non-member (membership probability from RV is <50%) U = unknown membership status Note (4): These identification numbers are *not* those of Meibom et al. (2009ApJ...695..679M) as indicated in the paper. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: From electronic version of the journal References: von Hippel et al., Pap I 1998AJ....116.1789V Sarajedini, et al., Pap II 1999AJ....118.2894S Sarajedini, Pap III 1999AJ....118.2321S Sarajedini et al., Pap IV 1999AJ....118.2894S Barrado et al., Pap V 2001ApJ...549..452B Sills & Deliyannis, Pap VI 2000ApJ...544..944S Platais et al., Pap VII 2001AJ....122.1486P, Cat.
