BDA
The DataBase for Stars in Open Clusters
Content
The database has been prepared by
Jean-Claude Mermilliod
at the Institute of Astronomy of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland).
It contains published observational data for
galactic open clusters concerning
Information for about 100000 stars have been collected. The
content page
summerizes the number of entries for each kind of data.
WWW access
An access to the database is provided
- to search the (1969 - 1996) bibliography
- by subjects
using keywords
- by authors' name.
- to query the cross-reference tables
- This link provides a
list of about 180 open clusters for which a table is available
- This facility makes use of frames. An alternative will be provided.
- to display cluster maps
- Nearly 200 published charts of open clusters, often of small apparent diameter,
have been scanned.
- This link provides a
list of about 200 open clusters for which a chart is available
Description
The User's Guide is available in hypertext form.
- The first part describes the structure of the
database and query modes
- The second part presents the various modes to
use the database, with many examples
- The third part explains advanced use and
