ADC_Keywords: Stars, metal-deficient Abstract: The first supplement (MDSPS1) to the Catalog of Metal-Deficient F-M Stars Classified Spectroscopically (MDSP) includes 289 stars selected from the literature sources published in 1997-1982. Introduction: Recorded information includes MDSPS1 number, star numbers in 2 catalogs with notes on duplicity, V magnitude, (B-V)0 color, Mv, B-V color excess and [Fe/H], notes on colors and metallicity, stellar group, spectral type with reference, coded catalog number, original equinox and format codes for the equatorial coordinates, RA and Dec (1950.0) in radians, RA and Dec (1900.0, 1875.0, 1855.0), HD, BD/CD, G, LTT, and up to 13 other catalog designations in a numeric code. Note (5): The photometric spectral type is marked by a symbol "PH" (an asterisk refers to a type determined in this paper). It the spectral type is obtained from both spectroscopic and photometric classifications, the symbol "SP,PH" is used. For stars with [Fe/H] values obtained from high-dispersion spectra, the symbol "MD" is used and the [Fe/H] value is given in parentheses behind. For some stars the spectral type from HD, SAO, AGK2, BS, and other catalogues are presented without any references. Note (6): the Original Equinox is coded as: 0 = 1950.0; 1 = 1855.0; 2 = 1875.0; 3 = 1900.0 4 = 1925.0; 5 = 1975.0; 6 = 2000.0 Note (7): positions marked with "1" are listed to 0.1min in RA and 1arcmin in Dec accuracy. Note (8): See the file "numsys.txt" for keys to the coded identifications, and file "srccats.txt" for the acronyms used for catalogues. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: notes.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2- 4 I3 --- MDSPS1 [1/289] Catalog number, repeated when several lines 7- 79 A73 --- Text Text of note -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: refs.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2- 3 I2 --- RefNo [1/34] Reference Number 5- 80 A76 --- Text Authors and references -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: * 11-Dec-2000: Only one equatorial position (for Equinox B1950.0) was kept in file data.dat -- the original file contained in addition the equatorial positions for equinoxes 1900, 1875 and 1875, plus the 1950 RA and Dec in radians.
