ADC_Keywords: X-ray sources
Description:
This catalog contains 107 sources in the energy range 2-18 keV,
galactic latitude |b|>10°. It results from the sky survey
conducted by the Leiscester Sky Survey Instrument on Ariel V.
The file "2a.dat" is the electronic version of the table 1 of the
original paper, prepared by G. Share (Naval Research Laboratory).
It contains 2 sources more than the original paper.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note (1): note on X-ray intensity (only the average is given here; the
printed table contains in addition the error, min and max intensities):
S = steady source (Xint is the weighted mean of all observations)
I = irregular source
F = flaring source
P = periodic source
T = transient source
Note (2): the suggested identifications are followed by a star code:
**** = almost certain identification
*** = very likely cross-identification
** = probable identification: supporting evidence exists, but the object
is outside the (small) X-ray error box
* = possible identification: positional coincidence only.

History:
* July 1979: the catalog was originally prepared by Dr G. Share (Naval
Research Laboratory) and documented by Theresa A. Nagy (NASA/ADC),
see the attached "doc.txt" file. This catalog was numbered VII/19/ in
the "Bulletin d'Information du CDS" (1978BICDS..15..125. 1978BICDS..15..125.)
* May 2005: the CDS documentation (the present ReadMe) was added
(catalog was re-numbered IX/2/ in the CDS collection)
