Abstract:
A comprehensive framework for comparing spectral data from different
planets has yet to be established. This framework is needed for the
study of extrasolar planets and objects within the solar system.
We completed observations to compile a library of planet spectra for
all planets, some moons, and some dwarf planets in the solar system to
study their general spectroscopic and photometric natures.
During May and November of 2008, we acquired spectra for the planets
using TRISPEC, which is capable of simultaneous three-band
spectroscopy across a wide wavelength range of 0.45-2.5um with low
resolving power (λΔλ∼140-360).
Description:
The files included in this folder are fully reduced, wavelength
calibrated and color flattened data from our observations for the
planetary spectra library.
In sp subdirectory, the first column indicates the wavelength in
microns. The second column indicates the intensity of the spectrum at
that wavelength.
spbin subdirectory contains files which has been rebinned to the
wavelength resolution of TRISPEC. The third column indicates the 1
sigma value of the binned pixels. A "-1" in the column for the
intensity value and sigma indicates an error return during the
rebinning process.

Note (1): Because of the strong ring, the naming system for Saturn
requires more detail:
* "SaturnwithRing" indicates a spectrum of the planet Saturn where
light from the ring also entered the spectrograph slit.
* "SaturnRing" indicates a spectrum of the ring, and light from the
planet Saturn did not enter the spectrograph slit.
* "SaturnNPole" indicates the spectrum taken by rotating the
spectrograph slit and placing it on Saturn's North Pole so that
light from the ring did not enter the spectrograph slit.
Note (2): Single spectra are in sp subdirectory (sp/FileName), spectra
rebinned to the wavelength resolution of TRISPEC are in spbin
subdirectory (spbin/bin_FileName).
