Abstract:
This catalogue contains 1602 entries. It was created to list objects
that have similar near- and mid-infrared characteristics than R
Coronae Borealis (RCB) stars which are supergiant and
hydrogen-deficient stars known to possess a hot circumstellar shell.
It is therefore a catalogue enriched with RCB stars and further
spectroscopic follow-ups are needed to reveal the nature of each
object.
The catalogue was produced from a series of selection criteria on the
infrared colour of sources published in the Preliminary WISE data
release (2011). These sources spread over 57% of the entire sky. They
have also all been detected in each J, H and K bands of the 2MASS
catalogue.
Description:
For each object, the equatorial and Galactic coordinates are given, as
well as all four WISE (Wright et al., 2010AJ....140.1868W 2010AJ....140.1868W, Cat.
II/307), three 2MASS (Skrutskie et al., 2006, Cat. VII/233), three
DENIS (Epchtein et al., 1994Ap&SS.217....3E 1994Ap&SS.217....3E, Cat. B/denis) magnitudes,
and their related 1-sigma errors. The five USNO-B1 magnitudes (Monet
et al., 2003, Cat. I/284) are also listed, but not the individual
measurement error since they were not delivered in the original
catalogue. If one magnitude was not available, its value was replaced
by the number -99. Also, if more than one epoch were available in the
DENIS or USNO-B1 catalogues for one particular object, only the epoch
related to the brightest magnitudes were kept. The last column of the
catalogue gives the SIMBAD classification, as of July 2011, found
using a 5 arcsec matching radius. An underscore character was given to
the objects that had no classification in SIMBAD. WISE data
acquisition and reduction are discussed in Wright et al.
(2010AJ....140.1868W 2010AJ....140.1868W) and in the Explanatory Supplement to the WISE
Preliminary Data Release Products. There are four WISE bands, with
central wavelengths at 3.4, 4.6, 12, and 22um.
