Abstract:
The rest-frame near-IR spectra of intermediate age (1-2Gyr) stellar
populations are dominated by carbon based absorption features offering
a wealth of information. Yet, spectral libraries that include the
near-IR wavelength range do not sample a sufficiently broad range of
ages and metallicities to allow for accurate calibration of stellar
population models and thus the interpretation of the observations.
In this paper we investigate the integrated J- and H-band spectra of
six intermediate age and old globular clusters in the Large Magellanic
Cloud (LMC).
Description:
Provided are spatially integrated J- and H-band spectra of LMC
globular clusters in the wavelength range 1.15-1.34 and
1.5-1.78-microns. The spectra are obtained using the IFU spectrograph
SINFONI mounted on the VLT. A detailed description of the integration
process can be found in the paper. The regions 1.21-1.236 and
1.26-1.295 are severely affected by varying sky line residuals, thus
the spectra are set to 0.
